STAY AWAY from GA Pack & Load!!! Would give them 0 stars if I could. Movers broke numerous priceless items and there was no compensation because it was "PBO" (packed by owner) when these items were clearly broken due to the HORRIBLE way in which they were handled by GA Pack & Load. I have pictures to prove how I packed the items as well as pictures after movers handled the boxes.
I had been burned by another mover when they "underestimated" my move. When I had Read Ahlemann come to give me an estimate for moving, I explained that I did not want to be faced with another low estimate and then hit with a bigger bill. That is exactly what happened. They did not send enough men or a big enough truck to get it all on one load so I had to wait to finish the move the following week AND had to pay additional costs. Also, several items were damaged in the move. BEWARE of the $300 cap on repairs-it does not go very far. You have to pay an excessive amount UP FRONT for insurance if you want any additional coverage. I had hoped for a better experience.
I had a great experience with an interstate move from ATL to Asheville. Moved out of an entire 3500 sq ft home in 3 hours with 4 people and unloaded in 1.5 hours in inclement weather. All movers for personable and professional (I get along with all walks of life though). Nothing broken that I know of and of value. Additionally, the pricing was great and beat out the traditional interstate movers (United, Atlas, Mayflower, etc.) AND was a next day, truck-dedicated move as opposed to a few day, unload/load and transfer at warehouse situation.
